Creatively-led and long-established production company Rattling Stick is as culturally iconic and joyfully irreverent as it was almost 20 years ago, when founded by film-making legends Daniel Kleinman, Johnnie Frankel and Ringan Ledwidge. The small but highly creative team ethic and unwavering focus on talent and quality filmmaking is widely recognised for its impact on advertising and has been consistently awarded and celebrated within the industry. Rattling Stick have made some of the most iconic commercials of all time, all in the Rattling Stick way; carefully crafted by the enviable roster of skilled directors and the best and most experienced production teams, and always with lots of laughing along the way.
Why should new directors in particular be interested in your company?
As part of a new wave of energy and keen focus on the future of advertising, Rattling Stick launched a new production arm, Rattling Stuff, as a hub for emerging talent. Offering production solutions with a dynamic approach to TV commercials and content, Rattling Stuff seeks out creative opportunities for up and coming directors in a space that perhaps historically has not championed new-generation talent.
Rattling Stick and Rattling Stuff work incredibly closely together, with the core motive to support and empower every director. From shadowing to mentoring to co-directing and beyond.
Diversity Leadership:
We have officially partnered with the LSA – a state funded sixth form college on a mission to transform the UK screen industries by enabling access to all, regardless of background, to reflect the cultural and socioeconomic diversity of the world we live in. In support of the next generation of filmmakers and creators, we provide LSA students with invaluable work experience on every one of our UK shoots, actively participate in the school’s mentorship scheme and take all opportunities to involve pupils still in education and then help their creative careers wherever possible.
As Shiny members, we are supporting free entries for Shiny’s education & training partners (Mama Youth, Brixton Finishing School, Creative Mentor Network, LSA, ELAM and universities & colleges worldwide).
Also as we are on the jury panel for the Shiny awards, we donate prizes to support new & diverse filmmakers.

As well as the multitude of individual awards won by Rattling Stick directors, the company itself was voted number 1 Production Company in the Televisual Peer Polls for 6 consecutive years, Production Company of the Year at the British Arrows 4 times, Most Awarded Production Company in the UK and 3rd Most Awarded Production Company in the World for 2 years running in The Gunn Report, among many many others.
